Operations Manager at Project Implicit


Project Implicit is a non-profit corporation with the aim to (1) provide public education about implicit bias and related phenomenon, (2) support the development of methodological tools to measure implicit bias, and (3) provide a “virtual laboratory” for collecting social psychological data on the Internet. Our demonstration website facilitates behavioral research and education about implicit bias.

Project Implicit provides educational presentations and consulting for corporations, universities, non-profits, and other organizations that focuses on diversity and inclusion, implicit bias, bias in decision-making, and barriers to innovation. We also provide researchers with data collection and research design consulting services using our web-based infrastructure.

We seek to hire a full-time Operations Manager who will report to the Executive Director. The Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring that the organization's operations are proceeding smoothly. This person will play a critical role in managing the day-to-day effectiveness of Project Implicit through a variety of activities including finance, fundraising, workflow-management, administrative/infrastructure, and human resources.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day office operations and administration for staff and volunteers and generate innovations and solutions that support the growth and success of Project Implicit's functioning and mission
  • Operational management responsibility for finances, administration, and HR activities (including including administration of benefit plans)
  • Prepare and manage the annual budget with an active, forward-looking approach to business development
  • Identify, develop, and implement operational process improvements including necessary resources to achieve the organization's goals
  • Coordinate day-to-day and long-term finance operations with our outsourced accounting firm and clients (including processing deposits, reimbursements, and invoicing)
  • Work with Program Manager to develop and implement pricing strategies for client-facing work
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements
  • Maintain organizational records and bookkeeping
  • Ensure compliance with IRS and other federal and state laws and regulations for non-profit organizations and support annual audit

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, non-profit management or a related field, and at least five years relevant experience

Remote Work

Please note that Project Implicit is a non-profit organization that does not have a central office location. The Project Implicit team works remotely and connects regularly via web-based meetings.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $60,000-$85,000 annually; salary is commensurate with experience. Project Implicit offers full time employees 401(k), health/dental/vision insurance, and two weeks of paid leave annually.
